Donald Trump substantiated his ongoing bromance with Patriots quarterback Tom Brady last week, while Brady has generally played the coy card when recently debating the nation’s 45 th president.
That changed Monday, when the two-time NFL MVP appeared on a Boston radio show and opened up on the nature of his relationship with Trump.
But if you’re expecting some riveting details, don’t deem your breath. The media-savvy Brady still retained occasions pretty vague.
“Sometimes he calls me. Sometimes I call, ” Brady suggested, per CSN NE , em> a day after punching his ticket to Super Bowl 51. “But, again, that’s been someone I’ve known. I always try to keep it in context because for 16 times you know someone before perhaps “hes in” the position that he was in. He’s been very supportive of me for a very long time. It’s only a relationship. I have a lot of friends. I call a lot of people.”
Their friendship goes back a long way, with Brady evaluating one of Trump’s beauty pageants in 2002 to Trump’s vehement support for Brady during the course of its “Deflategate” scandal.
A “Make America Great Again” cap in Brady’s locker substantiated his political blurb for Trump last year. Though, considering Trump’s comments and scandals, the media-savvy Brady has wisely avoided diving very deep into Trump advocacy.
“I’m a reasonably positive person, so I don’t want to create any distractions for our crew and so forth, ” he suggested. “I only try and abide positive and actually this world-wide could use a bit more positivity.”
Maybe Brady’s big win over Pittsburgh on Sunday along with the opportunity to win his fifth Super Bowl echoing next month devoted him the confidence to open up about Trump. Either behavior, we know who Brady favored in the election, and we know who Trump will be root for at the Super Bowl.
